So this last week has been one of the best weeks of my life! We had so many cool experiences and the best one of all was on last saturday! Elder Richard G. Scott came to our mission and had a special conference with us. Holy cow it was pretty much the most epic thing of all time. I got to shake the hand of an Apostle of the Lord and talk with him. It was like the most amazing thing ever, haha oh man i was sooooo pumped to see him. And it is so crazy seeing an Apostle in person and up close, because on tv they just look so different. Elder Scott is such a short guy! He is probably like 5'2 smaller than jessica! I thought he was a much taller guy. And the suit he was wearing was a little big on him, and haha his hair wasn't totally combed perfectly. And i loved it, because it made me realize that these guys are real too. But whenever he spoke you could feel his power and authority. And the best part of the whole meeting was when he bore his testimony. It was incredible. When he testified as a special witness of Jesus Christ, it blew my mind. And at one point he stuck out his finger, looked into my eyes and said, Jesus Christ lives and I know Him.... holy cow that was the coolest moment of my life! Loved it haha. Another really cool thing i learned about him was his family life before his mission. At the time right before his mission, he wasnt even sure if he wanted to go. his dad wasn't even a member of the church and his mom was less active. I loved hearing that too. It was just a great experience.
So another really cool thing that happened this week is we found another person to teach! Her name is Shinny and she is an exchange student from china. And it is soo cool teaching her, because i have never taught someone before who doesn't even really know who God or Jesus Christ are. It was awesome, she was asking what is heaven like, so elder anderson and i asked her to imagine the most beautiful place she has ever seen in her life, and she was like ok, then we told her to multiply it by a million, and she was like. oh my gosh..., it was just soooooo sweet seeing her picture this for the 1st time in her mind. Teaching is like my favorite thing to do in the world, and now that we are finally getting a couple more people to teach it is awesome. Keep praying for us though so that we can find more people! We need them!
Haha no i still don't know my way around buffalo very well, it is such a big city and there are so many streets i am having to use the map all the time to make sure i know where i am going. I am starting to like it a little bit more though, haha it is such an ugly city itself but i am really starting to like it more which is really good. Haha and you asked if i have seen anything exciting.... well buffalo really isn't the safest place of all time, and we were just going by this school the other day and all of the sudden i saw like these 3 blacks kids jump this kid and just start beating the crud out of him! It was nuts, i wanted to go over and help but if i did, i probably would have just got owned. It was crazy, and the other day too, this van tboned a cadilac right in front of us and the cadilac spun and hit the light pole. It was insane! We were like the only witnesses of what happened so we had to talk to the cops and stuff. My back is doing better, it is still really tight sometimes, but the church is having me going to physical therapy for a little bit and i'll be ok, so dont worry. :) I'll keep maddux in my prayers for sure, i can't believe that little guy is going to have surgery! Well i love you mom, and today we are going to see the giant catholic basilica here in orchard park. I'm going to take some pictures and then send my winter pics home next week. I love you mom and i hope you have an amazing week! You are the best and i love you guys so much.
Love,
Elder Ingram
